Seven days without AI — or at least, seven days with drastically reduced AI use. This challenge is designed to help you understand your habits, rebuild independent capabilities, and make conscious choices about how AI fits in your life going forward.

Before you start

Choose a week without major deadlines. Tell someone you trust what you're doing. Delete AI apps from your phone (you can reinstall later). Log out of AI services on your browser. Write down your goals for the week. Prepare alternative activities for moments when you'd normally reach for AI.

Day 1: The awareness day

Notice every time you reach for AI. Don't judge — just count. Keep a tally on paper. Most people are startled by the frequency. Each of those impulses is a data point about your habits. By the end of the day, you'll have a clear picture of how deeply integrated AI has become in your routine.

Day 2: The discomfort day

This is typically the hardest day. The novelty of the challenge has worn off but the new habits haven't formed. Expect restlessness, boredom, and a strong urge to "just check one thing." This discomfort is not a sign of failure — it's evidence that your brain is adjusting. Sit with it.

Day 3: The creativity day

Without AI to generate ideas or drafts, you'll need to create from scratch. Write something. Draw something. Solve a problem using only your own thinking. The output might not match AI quality — that's fine. The point is exercising your creative muscles, not producing perfect results.

Day 4: The connection day

Have a real conversation about something you would normally discuss with AI. Call a friend. Meet someone for coffee. Send a text that's more than logistical. Notice how human conversation differs from AI conversation — it's messier, less predictable, and more meaningful.

Day 5-6: The routine days

By mid-week, you're building new patterns. The acute discomfort has eased. You're discovering alternative approaches to tasks. Your own thoughts feel louder and clearer. Continue your AI-free routine and notice what's different about your days.

Day 7: The reflection day

Review your week. What was harder than expected? What was easier? What did you miss most about AI? What did you discover without it? These reflections will guide your re-engagement with AI — this time, with intention rather than habit.

Start with understanding your baseline. Take our quiz before beginning the challenge.
